Discovering Dubai: A Four-Night Adventure with Seeds of Travel

Travelling is about creating memories, and our recent small group tour to Dubai was nothing short of magical. With eight adventurous souls, we embarked on a journey filled with wonder, culture, and unforgettable experiences. Here’s a glimpse into our four nights in this vibrant city.

Night 1: Arrival and Dinner with a View

We touched down in Dubai, eager to start our adventure. Our unique accommodation at the Al Seef Heritage Hotel in the Old Town area was a perfect beginning. The hotel is a charming labyrinth of different buildings, each resembling an old city structure, with rooms that feel like stepping back in time. Wandering through the streets of the hotel is like exploring a souk. There are winding alleys and hidden gems at every corner.

After settling in, we headed to the Armani Hotel for a smorgasbord dinner. Nestled just under the Burj Khalifa, this dining experience offered spectacular views of the iconic fountain show outside the Dubai Mall. The fountains dance to life multiple times each evening, starting at 6 PM and continuing every 30 minutes until 11 PM. Getting to the Armani Hotel is a breeze – just a short walk from the Dubai Mall metro station. The Mediterranean Restaurant at the Armani provided a variety of delectable dishes. They ranged from fresh seafood to rich pastas. The attention to detail was impeccable. They even catered to Kathy’s nut allergies with a special meal prepared just for her.

Day 2: Souks and Saxophones

Our second day began with a walking tour of the old spice souks and gold souks, led by the knowledgeable and delightful guide from 1001 Nights Experience. We strolled through the bustling markets, sampling local food and drinks. We also took a charming boat ride on a traditional wooden Abra across the Dubai Creek.

That night, we experienced the surreal as we floated down the Dubai Creek on the open rooftop of Al Faris Floating Restaurant. A saxophonist serenaded us as the city skyline passed by. The blend of modern architecture and twinkling lights made us feel like we were in a dream. The magic didn’t end there. We then hopped off our boat to witness the brilliant show, La Perle. The theatre came alive with stunning acts, captivating music, and a stage that transformed before our eyes, leaving us all in awe.

Day 3: Luxury and Leisure

Our third day was a luxurious one, starting with a tour of the Burj Al Arab, known as the world’s only seven-star hotel. With private butler service and a golden-leaf coffee and tea experience, we felt like royalty. Our lips shimmered with gold. We explored the king and queen suites. Each was an epitome of indulgence and elegance.

For lunch, we visited the oldest Arabian Tea House. Nestled in the heart of the Al Fahidi Historical District, this charming spot has been serving traditional Arabian dishes since 1997. The ambience is serene, with a menu that includes fresh salads, hearty stews, and fragrant teas. It was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the rich history of Dubai.

In the afternoon, we ventured to the Dubai Miracle Garden. Despite the scorching 42-degree heat, the garden’s beauty was undeniable. Open from November to May, the Miracle Garden is a floral wonderland. There are over 50 million flowers arranged in stunning designs. Though the heat cut our visit short, it’s definitely worth a visit, preferably in cooler months.

That evening, we sought relief from the heat at the rooftop pool and bar of the sister hotel to Al Seef Heritage Hotel. Sol provided a fun and relaxing atmosphere with a stunning sunset view over the city. Happy Hour offered 2-for-1 drinks and simple yet delicious meals like burgers and nachos. It was a perfect end to our day.

Day 4: Heights and Deserts

Our final day in Dubai started with a trip to the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. Standing at a staggering 828 meters, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. We headed to the At the Top observation deck on the 125th floor, which offers unparalleled views of the city. To book tickets, visit the official Burj Khalifa website or the ticket counters at the Dubai Mall. Prices vary depending on the time of day and level of access.

The Dubai Mall is not just a shopping destination but an entertainment hub. It has attractions like the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, the VR Park, and the Dubai Ice Rink. We spent our morning exploring these delights. Each corner of the mall offered a new surprise.

In the afternoon, we embarked on a desert safari booked through Viator. This adventure included 4×4 dune bashing, a camel ride at sunset, and a barbecue dinner under the stars at a traditional Bedouin camp. The evening was filled with entertainment, including belly dancers, fire twirlers, and more. It was the perfect way to end our trip, sharing laughter and stories under the desert sky.

Our four nights in Dubai were packed with experiences that left us in awe of this incredible city. From luxurious hotels to cultural excursions and desert adventures, Dubai offers something for everyone. We can’t wait to return and explore even more of this dazzling destination.
